Consumer empowerment and competition in the marketplace are creating an environment where choice and flexibility are key.
Sometimes it seems like we’re surrounded by rules and restrictions, ways of telling us how to live.
There is a growing resistance to living a “labelled life” – we’d rather be free to make our definitions.
We don’t want…………… restrictions, rules, traditions, social norms, peer pressure, conformity, judgement, criticism, labels, defaults or habits.
Instead we want to live with choices, impulsiveness, control, freedom, flexibility, self-confidence, assertiveness, mindfulness and tolerance.
We call this flex living and we see it across all areas of life, from food and alcohol, to mobile phones, identity politics, work-life balance, and others.
