Capitalising on the Staycation trend

For obvious reasons, 2020 has been the year of the staycation. A trend that had been growing for the past few years was given fresh impetus by the closing down of foreign travel. Brits rediscovered the hidden gems of our island, reconnected with family and wallowed in the nostalgia of taking their kids to places they’d visited when they were young.

As the industry starts to look to 2021, it is clear that foreign travel companies and destinations will seek to restimulate our appetite for international travel.

How should UK accommodation providers, resorts and visitor attractions respond? Clearly, some travellers will be desperate to get abroad as soon as they can, but the opportunity exists to retain many of 2020’s staycationers by leveraging the key USPs of British destinations.

Download our Staycations report to find out how to ensure that staycations stay on the traveller agenda for 2021 and beyond.

Staycations are greener, healthier, cheaper and safer and can tap into the current vogue for nostalgia.
